The potion is used for the Imp in the Frederick quest near the Spider Queen i think.
East takes you to the GOBLIN village instead go north you'll see SILVER VEIN, and FREDERICK hurt on the path. Talk to him to get a few of his quests to find an IMP and BLOODSTONE. Head north, east, and south to the tree on the cliff above, a HATCH is revealed so enter.
CHEST west, east to IRON VEIN and stairs up. Kill 2 RATS (90 EXP each) and west to an old bedroom/library. Now northeast across some plants/islands, then east to the plant area to kill the giant FLOWER (4500 EXP). A DIG SPOT-KEY TO STUDY is just north. Now head back and west this time and talk to YOX. Tell him to remain in the cave (3150 EXP, +1 Independent). Go back now and east up the stairs to FREDERICKS lab, unlock the door and enter. Kill the RAT (90 EXP)
and loot the area, making sure to read everything. There are 5 UNDEAD lying on the ground, attack them and kill them (4080 EXPx2, 4535 EXPx3). Use the book on the left to open the wall and enter (3500 EXP) and get the BLOODSTONE (3150). Make sure to get the SECRET FILES and combine an APPLE + PUMPKIN for a potion for YOX. As you leave MARADINO'S ghost will appear and attack. He will resummon the 5 UNDEAD 1 by 1, kill them again (4080 EXPx2, 4535 EXPx3) and then kill MARADINO (10200 EXP).
Go back and give YOX the ELIXIR OF COURAGE (4500 EXP) and follow him outside where he goes to talk to FREDERICK. YOX gives no experience so just let him talk and go away. After talk to FREDERICK, give him the BLOODSTONE (4080 EXP) and wait for him to attack you and kill him (4500 EXP/6300 EXP).
Some have said that at Yox he doesn't have any options to give the potion. If you save your game and reload the dialogue option should then appear. It's a current bug that some people run into, but easily fixed.
